No Time to Let Down Your Guard

These last few days have been filled with very sad news stories in our local Tulsa area. Locally, we have had the news of three teenagers that broke into a home and were killed by the son’s owner as he felt threatened by three intruders.  It was reported that a Christian school principle and a pastor were both arrested for viewing and downloading child porn on their electronic devices. An Oklahoma state senator was arrested for being with a teenaged boy in a hotel room for lewd purposes.  Those were all in our city this past week and do not cover all of the host of things that did not make the local news.

The studies are being done to seek to find a remedy for this present melt-down of our culture.  The cause is not as elusive and “unknowable” as we pretend.  It is painfully clear….we have abandoned God in our culture.  We have taught a generation that they were nothing but a momentary “spark” that evolved from nothing and are headed back either to nothingness (Nihilism) or to the great energy force of the universe (Eastern religious thought).

We have lost our knowledge of the Owner’s Manual of the Universe. The LORD GOD that made us created us in His image.  We were given His laws, His precepts, His promises, and His paths in which to walk in His book called the Bible.  This post Christian generation believes it is now “free”.  But the tragedy is that we are bleeding to death as a civilization with our feet caught in the snares of the enemy as evil is rampant.  God builds character in mighty men and women.  Satan seeks to “kill, steal, and destroy”.  Because we have rejected God in the 21st century, we are now subject to the whims of the great Deceiver.  We need some Men of God to fight against Satan and to stand in the Righteousness of God against the wiles and deceit of Satan.

who cannot be bought;
whose word is their bond;
who put character above wealth;
who possess opinions and a will;
who are larger than their vocations;
who do not hesitate to take chances;
who will not lose their individuality in a crowd;
who will be as honest in small things as in great things;
who will make no compromise with wrong;
whose ambitions are not confined to their own selfish desires;
who will not say they do it” because everybody else does it”;
who are true to their friends through good report and evil report, in adversity as well as in prosperity;
who do not believe that shrewdness, cunning, and hardheadedness are the best qualities for winning success;
who are not ashamed or afraid to stand for the truth when it is unpopular;
who can say “no” with emphasis, although all the rest of the
world says “yes.”
