Daily Exercise

Fitness is a national obsession.  Not a day goes by without seeing multiple reminders of the trend that is in vogue to reduce fat, increase muscle, and be constantly conscious of one’s food intake.  It seems strange that the culture has rejected spiritual fitness as important but religiously espouse the veracity and necessity to pursue physical fitness in every way possible.

In the midst of the flurry of health clubs, dietary supplements, liquid means of proper intake of vitamins. “cleanses”, and other good things to enhance one’s good health, the person who is content to work, eat, and be social can be made to feel hopelessly out of touch.  Along with good health, the financial rewards must be good when one agrees to be a seller of the latest and best that a company offers to make the user fit. 

Seemingly, every person does have some form of exercise.  It may be that the regimen is not immediately recognized or published, but the various workouts listed below have been around for a very long time.  Many people have been extremely proficient in doing these things daily.  This “club” is not hard to join.  Information on how to join is not offered since the exercises are very widely known and practiced by the vast majority of the population.  You do not need to post your picture on Facebook to show you “belong” to this group or tout the evidences of your proficiency in the membership of this exercise class.  For clarification, please read below….

Daily Exercise for the Non-Athletic:

A calorie guide citing a recent medical association report: “Proper weight control and physical fitness cannot be attained by dieting alone. Many people who are engaged in sedentary occupations do not realize that calories can be burned by the hundreds by engaging in strenuous activities that do not require physical exercise.” Here’s the guide to calorie-burning activities and the number of calories per hour they consume.
